Haiti History Game ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those services provide (name and email).

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including quiz scores, Truth Points earned, episodes unlocked, achievement progress, and leaderboard rankings.

Device Information: We may collect general device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and performance improvement purposes.

We do NOT collect:

• Precise location data
• Contacts or phone numbers
• Photos, videos, or files from your device
• Financial or payment card information (payments are handled entirely by Google Play)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Track your quiz progress and Truth Points
• Display leaderboard rankings
• Unlock episodes based on your progress
• Send push notifications about new content or achievements (with your permission)
• Improve the App's performance and user experience

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted backend platform built on PostgreSQL. All data transmissions are encrypted using HTTPS. We implement Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Authentication and database hosting
• Google Play Services — App distribution and in-app purchases
• Expo / React Native — App framework and push notifications

These services may collect certain data as outlined in their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share aggregated, anonymized data for analytical purposes, but this data cannot be used to identify individual users.

Your display name and quiz scores may be visible to other users through the public leaderboard. You can change your display name at any time in your profile settings.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is an educational tool suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Update or correct your information through the App's profile settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
